Psychological thrillers, frozen espresso martinis, milestone birthdays & a little book-club chaos ☕📚🍸
August book club was giving light, airy, bookish brunch vibes—with a side of murder, martinis, and women who definitely know how to have a good time.
This month, the Book Fetish Mommas gathered at Sixty Vines for brunch, and the assignment was simple: dress light and airy to match the Sixty Vines aesthetic, bring your book opinions, and come ready for a good time.

And Sixty Vines understood the assignment.

First things first: the frozen espresso martinis were a 10/10. No notes. 🍸☕

And the Toffee Walnut Pull Apart Bread? The kind of good that makes you want to slap your momma. 😂 Sorry, Momma. We don’t make the rules.
📖 August’s Book: His & Hers
This month we reviewed His & Hers by Alice Feeney, and the Book Fetish Momma gave it an impressive:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.7 STARS
Great characters. Murder. Affairs. Secrets. Twists. Suspicion. And enough questionable behavior to keep an entire table of women debating over brunch.
Basically, all the things we want in a great psychological thriller.
This was one of those books that gives you plenty to actually talk about—theories, motives, characters you don’t trust, and those moments that make you rethink everything you thought you knew.
🖤 Another Book Fetish Momma Gets Her Jacket
One of our favorite traditions happened this month: another one of our book club sisters received her official Book Fetish Momma jackets!
Our jackets aren’t something you get simply for showing up once.
When you become a regular part of our club—when you’ve joined the conversations, the dinners, the ridiculous group texts, the book debates, the martinis and the memories—you officially get inducted and receive your jacket.
It’s our little way of saying:
You’re one of us now. 🖤📚
And yes, wearing matching book club jackets in public absolutely turns heads.
More on that later. 😂
🎥 Book Club… But Make It Content
Of course, we couldn’t get this many personalities together without creating a little social content.
We spent some time shooting videos, laughing at ourselves and documenting the chaos that happens when women who have become genuine friends get together every month.
We also gave our book club sisters their own pen names - Francesqua, Dr. C, Maxima, Wren, Scarlet, Daisy, Lily - Because apparently our regular identities weren’t entertaining enough. 😂
You can catch all of it over on our Instagram: @bookfetishmomma.
What started as a book club continues to turn into something so much bigger—and somehow even more fun.
🎂 Two Milestone Birthdays!
We also celebrated TWO milestone birthdays this month!
We won’t be sharing ages in order to protect the innocent. 😂
Besides, these women are completely ageless, and honestly, you wouldn’t believe us if we told you anyway.
Happy birthday to two of our beautiful Book Fetish Momma! 🥂
📚 A Shoutout to Another Orlando Book Club!
One of the coolest surprises of brunch was realizing there was another book club sitting right next to us!
We want to give a special shoutout to The Checklist Book Club of Orlando, who were celebrating their ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY! 🎉📚
Congratulations Checklist Book Club!
Their group looked like so much fun, and we hope they have many, many more years of reading, gathering, laughing and building friendships together.
One thing we’ve learned over the last two years is that there is plenty of room for book baddies to create amazing communities around books.
We would LOVE to bring Orlando-area book clubs together for a future Orlando Book Retreat where we can meet, compare our favorite reads, share ideas, collaborate on gatherings and—obviously—have a few cocktails together.
Checklist Book Club, consider this your official invitation. 😉
☕ The Bookstore Afterparty
Did book club end after brunch?
Absolutely not.
A few espresso martinis deep, we headed to a local bookstore for coffee, new books and group photos.

Picture a group of women walking into a bookstore wearing matching black Book Fetish Mommas jackets, two espresso martinis under, giggling, buying more books that we absolutely did not need…
We definitely turned a few heads. 😂
And honestly?
Those are the moments that make this club what it is.
We came together because we loved books.
We keep coming back because we love each other.
🔪 September Book Pick: Verity by Colleen Hoover
Next month, we’re going BIG.
The Book Fetish Mommas voted to read:
With the movie adaptation creating buzz, we decided it was the perfect time to revisit one of the most talked-about psychological thrillers.
And we already have some seriously fun themes planned around this one. 👀
No spoilers yet.
But September isn’t just another meeting.
🎉 September Marks the Book Fetish Mommas’ 2-Year Anniversary!
TWO YEARS.
Two years of books.
Two years of dinners and cocktails.
Two years of retreats, themed gatherings, group chats, ridiculous videos, new jackets, new traditions and friendships that have grown far beyond the books sitting on our shelves.
The Book Fetish Momma at our very first meetup, where it all began two years ago.

We get asked all the time:
“How did you create a book club like this?”
Because here’s the thing—our members are busy.
We have families. Careers. Kids. Travel. Responsibilities. Calendars that sometimes feel impossible.
Yet month after month, we show up.
And that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.
✨ Coming in 2027: The Book Fetish Momma Book Club Retreat
We’ve learned a lot over these first two years about creating a book club that people genuinely want to be part of—and we’re ready to share it.
At our October 2027 Book Fetish Momma Retreat in Celebration, Florida, we’ll be hosting a master class:
Assembling a Successful Book Club That Lasts
We’ll talk about creating the culture, traditions, experiences and connection that turn a group of women who read books into an actual community.
Our retreat will intentionally remain small because we don’t want this to feel like a giant conference.
We want it to feel curated and personal.
We want to know your name. We want to hear about your club. We want to talk books with you. We want you to leave with new ideas—and hopefully some new bookish friends.
Pre-registration interest is now open.
If you’d like to be added to our early interest list, please inquire. Spots will be limited.
Until September…
Come for the books. Stay for the women. And definitely stay for the espresso martinis. 🍸📚🖤
