Orlando Book Club Recap: A Perfect Night of Books, Cocktails & Friendship

Looking for an Orlando book club where women can connect over incredible books, themed cocktails, and unforgettable experiences? That’s exactly what we create every month at Book Fetish Momma.

Our July gathering reminded us why we started this community—to bring women together through stories, meaningful conversations, and nights that leave our hearts a little fuller.

July’s Orlando Book Club Picks

This month, our women’s book club in Orlando (Book Fetish Momma) we tackled two very different novels:

📚 Desperate Girls ★★★★½ (4.5/5)

📚 The Love Hypothesis ★★★★☆ (4/5)

One kept us guessing until the very end, while the other gave us all the romance, banter, and laugh-out-loud moments we love.

As always, everyone shared their ratings, favorite scenes, and hot takes. Some books divide the room—and honestly, those are often the best discussions.

Bookish Style: White Dresses & Black Club Jackets

Every Book Fetish Momma gathering has a theme, and July’s look may have been one of our favorites yet.

Everyone arrived in all white, layered with our signature black Book Fetish Momma bomber jackets—a look that perfectly matched the classy, bookish atmosphere of the evening.

Of course, no bookish event in Orlando would be complete without capturing content for our social media before the night officially began.

Cocktails at Pillars of Vices Book Bar

We kicked off the evening at Pillars of Vices (POVs)—our private, book-inspired cocktail lounge created exclusively for Book Fetish Momma gatherings. I curated this space specifically for our club, making each meeting feel like an intimate escape where books, cocktails, and friendship come together.

While POVs isn’t open to the public, don’t lose hope just yet… keep reading. There may be an opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind bookish destination as part of our upcoming Book Fetish Momma Orlando Book Retreat. Trust me—you won’t want to miss it.

This month’s signature experience featured our custom Blackberry & Lavender Moscow Mule Bar, complete with fresh garnishes and plenty of cheers.

There’s something magical about combining books, beautifully crafted cocktails, and great conversation—and POVs continues to be one of our favorite places to gather.

Dinner & Book Discussion at Columbia Restaurant in Celebration FL

We have to give an honorable (and slightly dramatic) mention to one small disappointment of the evening…

Our favorite bartender, Clarice, wasn’t behind the bar that night, and let’s just say… we missed her. The espresso martinis just weren’t the same. They arrived with little to no foam—and if you know our club, you know that’s practically a tragedy.

In true bookish fashion, we all agreed: our espresso martinis should always come with plenty of head. 😉 Thankfully, the company, conversation, and laughter more than made up for it… but Clarice, if you’re reading this, we’ll see you soon!!!

My face says it all. Don’t serve me an espresso martini with no head.

Below is what they should look like…we love you Clarice.

We discussed every twist, every favorite character (or at least attempted to remember their names), and every ending.

But somewhere between the books and the food, the conversation naturally shifted to life, family, careers, and everything in between.

That’s the beauty of a women’s book club. It starts with books, but it becomes so much more.

Confession Time…

If you’ve ever attended one of our meetings, you already know this about me…

I absolutely butcher character names.

Every. Single. Month.

When you read as many books as I do, every fictional hero starts blending together. Somehow, I always manage to invent entirely new names for the characters.

Thankfully, the ladies never let me live it down—and honestly, I wouldn’t want them to.

It’s become one of our favorite running jokes.

August Book Selections

One of our favorite traditions happens at the end of every meeting.

Instead of simply choosing our next reads, we Spin the Bottle to decide what’s next.

August’s selections are:

📖 His & Hers

📖 Harvest Season

We’re already counting down until our next discussion.

Big Dreams: An Orlando Book Retreat

One of the most exciting conversations of the evening wasn’t about either book.

It was about creating something even bigger for our community.

We’re officially dreaming up the first-ever Book Fetish Momma Orlando Book Retreat, planned for October 2027.

Picture a long weekend designed for book lovers featuring:

  • Boutique hotel accommodations
  • Curated bookish cocktails
  • Author-inspired dining experiences
  • Silent reading sessions
  • Yoga and wellness activities
  • Book photography for your social media
  • Local bookstores and literary experiences
  • New friendships that last long after the final chapter

We’re still bringing this vision to life, but one thing is certain—we want it to become one of the premier bookish events in Orlando for women who love to read.

Stay tuned…we’re just getting started.

More Than an Orlando Book Club

People often ask what makes Book Fetish Momma different.

The answer is simple.

We’re more than a book club in Orlando.

We’re a community.

A place where women can show up exactly as they are.

Where books spark conversations that become friendships.

Where every gathering feels like coming home.

Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or you’re searching for your first women’s book club in Central Florida, we can’t wait to welcome you.

Until next month…

Happy reading.
